CELEBRITY chef James Martin is combining his love for cooking and cars at a special one-off Manchester event.
While celebrity chef James Martin is known first and foremost for his culinary skills, his love of cars and all things automotive isn’t far behind. He has decided to marry the two together for a special Supercar Sunday event at Manchester235 on June 8th.
Six of his favourite cars will be showcased outside of the Great Northern including his 1965 350 Shelby Mustang, 1965 Ferrari 275, 1972 Ferrari Dino, 1972 Ferrari Daytona, 1991 Ferrari Testerossa and his 1953 Ford Prefect.
The event, which will take place from 11am to 4pm, will raise funds for The Christie.
And as well as the cars on display, there will also be an ice cream van, outdoor entertainment, and James Martin himself on hand to talk through his cars and his restaurant at Manchester235, James Martin Manchester.
The restaurant will be open all day, from 12pm to 8pm, with a three course Sunday Lunch available for £35*.
Food and drink will also be available at Lucha Libre, Almost Famous and All Star Lanes, which can be brought outside and enjoyed in the Ampitheatre.
As well as James’ cars, there will be numerous other vehicles on display.
James Martin said: “My two major passions are cooking and cars and to be able to put on an event that brings them together is fantastic.
“The day will be one for everyone and I’m looking forward to meeting people and talking to them about both the restaurant and my cars.
“The restaurant is in such a thriving location in the Great Northern Warehouse and the outdoor amphitheatre space gives us a great opportunity to put a really interactive event together.
“James Martin Manchester has been hugely successful since we opened almost a year ago and all the events we’ve had so far have been over-subscribed. This is our first non-ticketed event so it really is a case of the more the merrier on the day.
This is not a ticketed event, and is free for all to attend.
In addition to all the outdoor activity, Manchester235 will be showing the Canadian Grand Prix in Vega Lounge.
Open 24/7, Manchester235 Casino gives the city a unique entertainment destination featuring lavish décor, contemporary restaurant, a chic cocktail bar, a luxurious multi-use private event suite, a spacious poker lounge and a multitude of gaming facilities including Poker, Blackjack, Roulette, Slots and Punto Banco.
James Martin Manchester, which seats 120 people, is open seven days a week from 5pm to 11pm.
The menu is a mix of James Martin’s classic British style of cuisine; locally sourced, big on flavour and uncontrived in its simplicity.
